Field Operations Specialist   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Take the keys. Make it work. Move on. Turn a raw building into a live, ready-to-go school campus—on schedule, fully operational—then hand it to the ops team and head to the next city to do it all over again. This is delivery on repeat, every month. If that's the pace you're looking for, keep reading.

2 Hour Learning operates schools built around a model where students complete their academics in two hours daily, then dedicate the rest of the day to life skills, entrepreneurship, and experiences that traditional schooling rarely accommodates. The approach drives results: students testing in the top 1-2% nationally and learning at double the standard rate. But none of that happens unless the campus is ready. Your job: deliver fully functional school sites, on time and within budget, across an expanding network of micro schools, growth campuses, and flagship vertical campuses in major metro areas.

Timelines are always tight. You'll go from building handoff to opening day in weeks, not months. That requires coordinating vendor schedules, tracking dependencies every day, and leveraging AI to catch every open issue before it turns into a delay. After a campus launches, you'll transition the site to the permanent operations team and shift focus to the next build.

You'll begin with micro-campus buildouts—the quickest, most repeatable projects in the portfolio. As the network grows to include growth and flagship sites, the scope and complexity of your work will grow with it.

When a school opens on schedule and students arrive on Day 1, your name stays in the background. That's what success looks like here. Apply today via our assessment process: a cognitive evaluation followed by a practical work sample.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing full campus buildouts for each assigned site: managing FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) procurement and installation, interior work, IT infrastructure, signage, and playspace from building handoff to opening day
  • Executing a compressed delivery timeline against a fixed opening date: sequencing vendor workflows, managing interdependencies, and accelerating execution when the schedule demands it
  • Managing and accepting vendor deliverables: submitting scopes of work, overseeing on-site execution, inspecting against specifications, and formally rejecting work that doesn't meet standards
  • Leveraging AI tools to draft vendor scopes, create punch lists, track outstanding items, and compile handoff documentation—this role requires that speed, no other way works
  • Following standardized site deployment playbooks, validating site readiness at completion, documenting structured feedback, and coordinating handoff to the permanent operations team

What you will NOT be doing

  • Running day-to-day facility operations once a campus is live: you hand off to the ongoing ops team and shift to the next build
  • Doing hands-on installation or trade work: your role is to direct, inspect, and accept—not to install fixtures or run cable yourself
  • Handling real estate sourcing, permitting, or certificate of occupancy processes: by the time a building comes to you, those steps are complete
  • Managing one project slowly: micro-campus builds move quickly, and the next one is always in the queue
  • Working in environments with unclear ownership or shared responsibility: every buildout has a single owner from handoff to opening day

Key responsibilities

Deliver fully operational campuses on time and within budget, from building handoff through opening day.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 2 years in operations, facilities, or project delivery
  • Experience identifying and fixing a broken process, with a measurable result to show for it: cost saved, time cut, or quality improved
  • Experience owning a multi-step project end-to-end, from kickoff through documented completion
  • Demonstrated vendor management skills: hold contractors to quality standards and push back when they miss the mark
  • Experience running 2 or more active projects or sites at the same time without things falling through the cracks
  • Regular use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to work faster and stay organized
  • Based in the US and eligible to work without visa sponsorship
  • Available to travel 60–80% of the time (3–4 days/week)

Nice to have

  • You've been part of a physical buildout or site activation in any industry: retail, restaurants, healthcare, offices, or similar
  • Background in construction project management, tenant improvement, commercial fit-out, or facilities management
  • Any hands-on exposure to FF&E, IT setup, signage, or commercial interior work, even in a coordinator or support role
  • You've used a project tracking tool (Wrike, Notion, Procore, Asana, Monday.com, or similar) to manage tasks or timelines

About Crossover

What you will learn

  • How to deliver complex buildouts on compressed timelines: each campus opened is a delivery rep that most project managers take years to accumulate elsewhere
  • How to move up in project scope—micro-campus buildouts are where you start; hit your marks, and the next project is bigger, with more systems, more vendors, more complexity, and more cities
  • How to build real AI workflows embedded in daily operations work: not a tool you use occasionally, but the engine behind how scopes get drafted, punch lists get tracked, and handoffs get documented
  • A proven site deployment methodology you'll both execute and improve—your structured field feedback directly shapes how future campuses get built across the network
