Description

You've earned operational excellence through exceptional execution. You understand facility management, corrective action, and personal accountability for standards. This position demands something more challenging.

You will manage a VP team accountable for sustaining operations at 35+ premium campuses. Not through direct execution. Through system design, quality benchmarking, and leadership development that enables autonomous performance. Success is measured by one thing: whether your team achieves green status across every location without requiring your intervention.

No established playbook exists. You will create AI-driven dashboards that identify issues before VPs search for them, frameworks that enforce quality without continuous supervision, and accountability architectures that allow VPs to manage 7+ campuses each while maintaining rigor. The validation is tangible: escalations diminish, audits pass cleanly, and operations run smoothly in your absence.

The trajectory is defined. Year one focuses on construction — dashboards, playbooks, vendor tracking systems, and quality standards built from the ground up. After systems launch and VPs operate independently, the role evolves: portfolio-scale CapEx strategy, succession planning, and optimization initiatives that elevate performance across all 35+ campuses simultaneously.

If you are prepared to lead the team that maintains premium standards across an expanding portfolio at scale, apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Managing, coaching, and developing a VP team where each leader owns sustain operations for 7+ campuses (standard) or 3+ campuses (large facilities), supported by defined performance metrics and consistent coaching
  • Building AI-driven operational infrastructure — predictive maintenance dashboards, vendor performance tracking systems, and portfolio-wide playbooks — that allow VPs to manage their portfolios independently without escalation
  • Establishing quantifiable quality standards and service level agreements for all facility metrics, then executing regular portfolio audits to enforce compliance and resolve gaps before they affect students or staff
  • Executing portfolio-level resource decisions: VP territory assignments, vendor strategy, and CapEx prioritization in collaboration with business and finance partners
  • Detecting and addressing VP performance gaps early using data-driven performance reviews and targeted coaching, cultivating a team that consistently achieves green status independently

What you will NOT be doing

  • Executing campus operations directly — your VPs manage day-to-day execution; you design the systems and develop the team that produce outcomes
  • Serving as the default escalation channel for every issue — properly architected systems and empowered VPs remove the "ask the SVP" dependencies that burden operational leaders at this level
  • Addressing challenges one location at a time — every framework, quality benchmark, and solution you develop applies across all 35+ campuses, not isolated sites
  • Limiting your influence to a few locations — every system, standard, and accountability structure you establish scales across 35+ campuses immediately
  • Creating solutions repeatedly from zero — after playbooks are established, VPs implement them; you refine based on portfolio-wide analytics, not individual campus emergencies

Key responsibilities

Manage a VP team to sustain uniform quality standards across a 35+ campus portfolio through scalable operational systems and disciplined performance management.

Candidate requirements

  • Based in the United States, with legal authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willing and able to travel 35–50% to U.S. campuses for team oversight, audits, and strategic leadership
  • Background in facilities, operations, or multi-site management including at least 3+ years leading a team of managers or VPs
  • Proven history of designing operational systems and frameworks that allowed a team to scale across 10+ locations
  • Experience establishing measurable quality standards and maintaining team accountability through data-driven performance management
  • Direct experience using AI and automation tools (such as GPT, Airtable, Retool, or Zapier) to create operational systems or manage team workflows
  • Experience overseeing CapEx budgets and executing resource allocation decisions across a multi-site portfolio

Nice to have

  • Background in premium multi-site operations with rigorous facility standards — luxury hospitality, UHNW residential management, flagship retail, or private K-12 education
  • Experience guiding a team through a build-to-operate transformation: transitioning a portfolio from ad hoc methods to systematized, scalable operations
  • Prior experience as regional director of operations, director of facilities, or equivalent, with responsibility for both team performance and system design across 10+ locations
