SVP of Campus Operations   $400,000 USD/year

Description

Your career has been defined by operational rigor. You know how to run facilities well, solve breakdowns decisively, and hold standards without compromise. This position demands something more complex.

You will oversee a VP-level team tasked with sustaining operations across 35+ premium campuses. Not through direct execution. Instead, by architecting the systems, defining the quality benchmarks, and cultivating the leaders who uphold them. Success will not be measured by your personal output — but by whether your team achieves green status at every site without requiring your intervention.

The blueprint has yet to be written. You will create AI-enabled dashboards that flag issues before your VPs search for them, frameworks that enforce quality standards without perpetual supervision, and accountability models that allow VPs to oversee 7+ campuses each without losing precision. You will know it is working when escalations disappear, audits return flawless, and operations continue seamlessly in your absence.

The trajectory is straightforward. Year one is construction — dashboards, playbooks, vendor performance tracking, quality standards built from the ground up. Once systems are operational and VPs are functioning independently, your focus evolves: portfolio-scale CapEx strategy, succession planning for the team, and optimization initiatives that elevate performance across all 35+ campuses simultaneously.

If you are prepared to lead the team responsible for maintaining premium standards across an expanding campus portfolio at scale, apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing, coaching, and managing a team of VPs, each responsible for sustain operations spanning 7+ campuses (standard) or 3+ campuses (large sites), with defined performance metrics and consistent coaching
  • Architecting AI-enabled operational infrastructure — predictive maintenance dashboards, vendor performance tracking systems, and portfolio-wide playbooks — that allow VPs to manage their portfolios without escalating issues to you
  • Establishing quantifiable quality standards and SLAs across all facility metrics, then executing regular portfolio audits to enforce compliance and address gaps before they impact students or staff
  • Directing portfolio-level resource allocation: VP assignments, vendor strategy, and CapEx prioritization in collaboration with business and finance partners
  • Detecting and addressing VP performance challenges proactively through data-informed reviews and coaching, cultivating a team that reaches green status independently

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing campus operations directly — your VPs execute on-site work; you are accountable for the systems and the team that produce results
  • Serving as the escalation channel for every issue — properly designed systems and empowered VPs remove the "ask the SVP" dependency that exhausts operations leaders at your level
  • Addressing problems on a campus-by-campus basis — every framework, quality benchmark, and solution you create applies across all 35+ locations, not just individual sites
  • Limiting your influence to a few sites — every system, standard, and accountability structure you develop scales across 35+ campuses immediately
  • Rebuilding solutions repeatedly — once playbooks exist, VPs implement them; you refine based on portfolio-wide data, not isolated site emergencies

Key responsibilities

Oversee a team of VPs to uphold consistent quality standards across a 35+ campus portfolio using scalable systems and disciplined performance management.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in the United States with legal authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willing and able to travel 35–50% to U.S. campuses for team oversight, audits, and strategic management
  • Background in facilities, operations, or multi-site management with a minimum of 3+ years leading a team of managers or VPs
  • Proven track record of designing operational systems and frameworks that allowed a team to scale across 10+ locations
  • Experience establishing measurable quality standards and maintaining team accountability using data-driven performance management
  • Direct experience leveraging AI and automation tools (such as GPT, Airtable, Retool, or Zapier) to construct operational systems or manage team workflows
  • Experience overseeing CapEx budgets and making resource allocation decisions across a multi-site portfolio

Nice to have

  • History in premium multi-site environments maintaining uncompromising facility standards — luxury hospitality, UHNW residential management, flagship retail, or private K-12 education
  • Experience guiding a team through a build-to-operate transformation: transitioning a portfolio from ad hoc methods to systematized, scalable processes
  • Previous position as regional director of operations, director of facilities, or equivalent, with responsibility for both team performance and system design across 10+ locations
