Description

You've earned credibility as a top-tier operator who knows how to maintain facility standards, resolve breakdowns, and enforce accountability personally. This position demands something more complex.

You will oversee a team of VPs accountable for the sustained operations of 35+ premium campuses. Not by executing the work yourself. By architecting the systems, establishing the quality benchmarks, and cultivating the leaders who uphold them. Success in this role is measured not by your direct contributions — but by whether your team achieves green status across the entire portfolio without requiring your intervention.

The operating manual has not been written. You will architect AI-enabled dashboards that identify issues before VPs must search for them, frameworks that enforce quality standards without perpetual oversight, and accountability models that allow VPs to manage 7+ campuses each while maintaining precision. You'll recognize success when escalations diminish, audits yield clean results, and operations continue seamlessly in your absence.

The trajectory is well-defined. Year one centers on construction — dashboards, operational playbooks, vendor performance tracking systems, and quality standards developed from the ground up. Once systems are operational and VPs function autonomously, the role evolves: portfolio-wide CapEx strategy, leadership succession planning, and optimization initiatives that elevate performance across all 35+ campuses simultaneously.

If you are prepared to lead the team responsible for maintaining premium standards across an expanding campus portfolio at scale, apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing, coaching, and managing a team of VPs, each responsible for sustain operations across 7+ campuses (standard) or 3+ campuses (large sites), with defined performance indicators and consistent development
  • Architecting AI-enabled operational infrastructure — predictive maintenance dashboards, vendor performance tracking systems, and portfolio-wide operating manuals — that empower VPs to manage their portfolios without escalating issues to you
  • Establishing quantifiable quality benchmarks and SLAs across all facility metrics, then executing regular portfolio audits to enforce compliance and address gaps before they impact students or staff
  • Executing portfolio-level resource allocation choices: VP assignments, vendor strategy, and CapEx prioritization in collaboration with business and finance partners
  • Detecting and addressing VP performance challenges early through data-informed assessments and coaching, cultivating a team that achieves green status independently

What you will NOT be doing

  • Executing campus operations directly — your VPs manage the field-level execution; your responsibility centers on the systems and the team that produce outcomes
  • Serving as the default escalation channel for every issue — properly designed systems and empowered VPs remove the "ask the SVP" dependencies that exhaust operations leaders at this level
  • Addressing challenges one location at a time — every framework, quality benchmark, and solution you develop applies across all 35+ sites, not merely the immediate concern
  • Limiting your influence to a small number of locations — every system, standard, and accountability structure you create scales across 35+ campuses immediately
  • Creating solutions from zero repeatedly — once operational playbooks are established, VPs implement them; you refine based on portfolio-wide insights, not isolated site emergencies

Key responsibilities

Oversee a team of VPs to ensure uniform quality standards across a 35+ campus portfolio through scalable infrastructure and disciplined performance management.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in the United States, with legal authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Prepared and able to travel 35–50% to U.S. campuses for team oversight, audits, and strategic management
  • Background in facilities, operations, or multi-site management including at least 3+ years leading a team of managers or VPs
  • Proven track record of designing operational systems and frameworks that allowed a team to scale across 10+ locations
  • Experience establishing quantifiable quality standards and maintaining team accountability through data-driven performance management
  • Direct experience utilizing AI and automation tools (such as GPT, Airtable, Retool, or Zapier) to construct operational systems or manage team workflows
  • Experience overseeing CapEx budgets and executing resource allocation decisions across a multi-site portfolio

Nice to have

  • History in premium multi-site contexts with rigorous facility standards — luxury hospitality, UHNW residential management, flagship retail, or private K-12 education
  • Experience guiding a team through a build-to-operate transformation: advancing a portfolio from ad hoc methods to systematized, scalable operations
  • Previous position as regional director of operations, director of facilities, or equivalent, with responsibility for both team performance and system architecture across 10+ locations
