Alpha is opening a flagship campus in this city, and we're searching for a leader who already knows Houston's education landscape inside and out. You will manage a team of 15 plus Guides who coach and motivate students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No traditional teaching. All action. Complete leadership authority.
Your objective: guarantee every student enjoys school, learns at twice the speed of conventional classrooms, and develops essential life skills. This is not a typical Principal position. You will maintain uncompromising standards, make decisions grounded in data, and establish Houston's premier school from the ground up.

What you will be doing
- Launch Alpha's flagship Houston campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises to 100 plus students from the first day with operational excellence in every area.
- Facilitate live workshops teaching life skills to K through 12 students: Conduct engaging one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and giving and receiving feedback. Follow Alpha's established playbook to ensure students gain skills traditional schools overlook while staying fully engaged.
- Drive every student to 100 percent goal achievement: Create individualized motivational models for each student. Apply data-driven methods to eliminate resistance and maintain student engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student reaching their goals.
- Develop Guides through excellence-focused coaching: Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to pinpoint performance gaps. Provide clear, actionable feedback during coaching sessions and monitor progress. Hold your team accountable through logic and objectivity, not empathy that lowers standards.
- Execute data-driven campus leadership: Evaluate performance across staff, operations, parent engagement, and culture. Identify problems, perform root cause analysis, consult relevant stakeholders, implement measurable solutions. Document every decision and adapt based on outcomes.
- Maintain excellence without exception: Establish and uphold Alpha's quality standards for both students and staff. Make difficult decisions when performance does not meet expectations. Model the standard you expect across your entire campus.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master's preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field
- Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority
- Deep knowledge of the Houston or wider Texas education landscape. This insight into local student needs, community dynamics, and competitive school environment is highly valuable to Alpha's Houston launch.
- Experience working with youth ages 5 through 14
- Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
- Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
- Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch
- Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff
- Able to relate to K through 12 students, understand their interests and culture, serve as a positive role model
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
