Every child should read at or above grade level—yet failing systems continue to limit what's possible.

Alpha School demonstrates that literacy transformation doesn't demand traditional 6-hour schedules. Our 2-Hour Learning framework integrates AI-adaptive platforms with specialist-led instruction to produce accelerated reading outcomes. You will create and implement workshops that generate quantifiable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for students in early elementary grades.

This role is not about administrative lesson planning. It centers on evidence-based teaching, technology partnership, and constructing a reading intervention system scalable to thousands of learners.

Why Dorado: Beautiful coastlines within minutes. A dynamic bilingual environment with convenient proximity to San Juan's cultural offerings, all while preserving a close-knit community atmosphere.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting adaptive reading workshops focused on phonics, comprehension, and fluency development
  • Creating individualized motivational programming through gamified literacy benchmarks
  • Reviewing student performance metrics to optimize instructional approaches and extract actionable findings
  • Partnering with engineering teams to assess and improve AI literacy platforms informed by real classroom outcomes
  • Building scalable, AI-supported curriculum materials that enable early elementary learners to reach grade-level reading proficiency

What you will NOT be doing

  • Standing at the front delivering traditional lectures — learning happens via self-directed AI applications, not passive listening
  • Implementing pre-designed curricula or reading from scripts — you create original workshop content independently
  • Instructing across multiple academic disciplines — your scope is reading intervention and motivational support, not general subject instruction
  • Managing behavior without purpose — each session is anchored to specific learning targets with trackable results
  • Operating alone — you engage regularly with engineers who develop the AI systems your students interact with every day

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that every K-2 student under your instruction achieves at or above grade-level reading through AI-enhanced workshops that render phonics instruction engaging, quantifiable, and enjoyable

  • Bachelor's degree plus either a Master's in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (essential for student and family communication)
  • 2+ years conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary learners
  • Competent in evaluating reading levels, forming instructional groups, and crafting differentiated lessons independent of prewritten materials
