Do you believe that every child should achieve grade-level reading proficiency (or higher), yet find it frustrating when ineffective systems squander their promise?

Alpha School demonstrates that literacy transformation doesn't demand 6-hour instructional days. Our 2-Hour Learning framework combines AI-adaptive platforms with specialized teaching to accelerate reading progress. Your role: architect and implement workshops that produce quantifiable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for early elementary learners.

This position focuses on data-informed teaching, technology partnership, and constructing a reading curriculum that scales to thousands of students—not administrative lesson planning.

Dorado advantages: Beautiful coastline within minutes. Dynamic bilingual setting with convenient access to San Juan's arts and culture, while preserving a close-knit community atmosphere.

Drive instruction. Embrace development. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting adaptive reading workshops focused on phonics, comprehension, and fluency development
  • Creating individualized motivational programming through gamified literacy benchmarks
  • Examining student performance metrics to optimize teaching methods and identify actionable trends
  • Partnering with engineering teams to assess and improve AI literacy platforms based on instructional outcomes
  • Building scalable, AI-integrated curriculum enabling early elementary learners to reach grade-level reading standards

What you will NOT be doing

  • Presenting traditional lectures — learning occurs through self-directed AI applications rather than passive delivery
  • Implementing standardized curriculum or scripted lessons — you construct original workshops independently
  • Instructing core academic subjects — your scope centers on reading workshops and motivational guidance, not mathematics or science content
  • Managing behavior or supervision duties — each session targets specific learning goals with trackable results
  • Operating independently — you engage directly with engineers developing the AI platforms your students interact with every day

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that every K-2 student in your assigned cohort achieves at or above grade-level reading through AI-enhanced workshops that render phonics instruction compelling, quantifiable, and enjoyable

  • Bachelor's degree accompanied by either a Master's in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (necessary for student and family communication)
  • 2+ years conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary students
  • Competent in evaluating reading proficiency, organizing student groups, and developing differentiated instruction independent of pre-designed curricula
  • Experienced with AI/adaptive learning technologies and attentive to student behavioral data
  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico without sponsorship requirements
  • Commitment to on-site work in Dorado, Puerto Rico
