Admissions Counselor   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Your success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with parents within moments of first contact. This position suits someone who thrives on outreach activities, maintains disciplined follow-up routines, and can articulate an innovative learning model without reading from a script. Candidates who shy away from phone-based communication or prefer environments lacking transparent performance benchmarks should look elsewhere.

Novatio School operates as a virtual, tuition-free public charter school that offers students an alternative educational framework. Core academic work is completed during concentrated time blocks with AI-enhanced learning support, leaving the remainder of each day available for real-world skill development through hands-on projects and enrichment activities. As an Admissions Counselor, you serve as the first substantive touchpoint for families considering this pathway.

Your weekly responsibilities include responding promptly to fresh inquiries, shepherding families through each stage of the admissions journey, and converting initial curiosity into completed enrollments. You will also attend local community events as a representative of Novatio School to cultivate new leads and expand local visibility. During quieter enrollment periods, you will support broader school operations while remaining prepared for the next admissions wave.

If you seek a position where your communication ability, reliability, and personal accountability directly influence student enrollment outcomes, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to new inbound leads within 24 hours and opening admissions discussions via telephone
  • Describing Novatio School's virtual educational model and enrollment procedures using straightforward, accessible language
  • Maintaining disciplined follow-up to advance families from initial inquiry through application and ultimately to enrollment
  • Recording all interactions in a CRM platform with precise notes, defined next steps, and current pipeline status
  • Planning and facilitating local recruitment events across Texas or Arizona to introduce the school and collect new leads

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing incoming leads to remain uncontacted while you address administrative tasks
  • Relying on scripted dialogue or functioning as part of a high-volume call center operation
  • Participating in events without actively presenting or pursuing lead generation
  • Devoting the bulk of your time to internal office duties during active enrollment periods

Key responsibilities

Transform new family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete enrollment at Novatio School.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Texas or Arizona with availability for a hybrid work arrangement
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service or similar customer-facing capacity
  • Background working with children or families (including schools, camps, childcare, tutoring, or comparable settings)
  • Comfortable conducting frequent phone conversations and leading families through multi-step procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication abilities with a talent for building rapport rapidly
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms or digital lead management systems

Nice to have

  • Background in admissions, enrollment, inside sales, or lead qualification functions
  • Experience organizing or delivering presentations at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic coursework or professional background in communications, education, or a related discipline
